Tradition has it that the moves in the ancient game of chess resemble those of two opposing sides armed for battle. With this unusual set, that notion is realized in terms of the Arthurian legends, which date back to the early Middle Ages. On one side of the board are knights of the Round Table and other ages-old characters elegantly clad in shades of blue; on the other side are comparable pieces distinguished by their vivid red garb.
